1. Is there an e-travel form I need to fill out?
Yes. All guests are required to complete the e-travel form, accessible via https://etravel.gov.ph/, before arrival at the airport in Manila. It is recommended to accomplish it 24 hours before arrival for a smoother process.
2. Where is the designated pick-up area at the airport?
- NAIA Terminal 3 (International Arrivals): Inside the main exit of the international arrival area, at Gate 4, beside the Philippine National Bank and Lulu Money Exchange.
- NAIA Terminal 1 (International Arrivals): Upon going to the exit, you will see multiple bays. For easy identification, the pick-up point will be at Bay A11 VIP.
Upon arrival, guests should proceed to the main exit area after completing airport procedures such as baggage claim and immigration. The V&C Representative or Guide will be waiting, holding a signage with the guests’ names for easy identification. Guests are advised to stay in the designated waiting area so the representative can easily spot them and provide assistance for transfer.
3. How will I communicate with the Team?
We will create a 24/7 WhatsApp group chat including you and the team. This allows you to reach us anytime for concerns, dinner recommendations, shopping mall suggestions, destination inquiries, or any questions you may have. The group will also be used to share important reminders and boarding passes.
4. What should I do about mobile connectivity?
Guests may purchase an eSIM for mobile data before arrival. Airalo offers eSIMs that can be checked and purchased on their website.
5. How do I handle currency & payments in the Philippines?
Cashless payments are readily available in malls and modern establishments. However, it is recommended to have some Philippine pesos on hand for smaller shops, markets, or transportation where card payments may not be accepted.
6. Where should I exchange my money?
Upon exiting the international arrivals area, you may ask the V&C Airport Representative to lead you to the money exchanger (NAIA Terminal 3). You may also ask the information desk inside the airport to point you to the money exchanger (NAIA Terminal 1).
7. What should I know about the weather & clothing?
The Philippines is a tropical country, meaning it is generally warm and humid year-round with occasional rain. Light and comfortable clothing is ideal, but guests can pack according to their preference. Think of it as a paradise—relaxed and breezy!
8. What kind of electricity & adapters do I need?
The Philippines uses plug types A, B, and C: two flat parallel pins, two flat parallel pins with a grounding pin, and two round parallel pins, respectively. Outlets may accept all three, but it is recommended to use a universal adapter for compatibility, especially since some sockets are non-grounded. The standard voltage is 220V, and the frequency is 60Hz.
1. Do I need a visa?
Visa requirements depend on your nationality. Some travellers can get a Visa on Arrival, while others need a pre-arranged tourist visa. Always check before travelling.
2. When is the best time to visit?
The ideal period is November to March, with temperatures around 24–30°C. Summer (April–October) can be extremely hot, up to 45°C. Stay hydrated and use sunscreen.
3. What is the local currency?
The UAE Dirham (AED) is used. Credit/debit cards are widely accepted, and ATMs are available everywhere.
4. What should I wear?
Modest clothing is recommended in public areas. Swimwear is allowed at beaches and pools. When visiting mosques, appropriate attire is required.
5. What language is spoken?
Arabic is the official language, but English is widely understood and used across the country.
6. Are there items I should avoid bringing?
Yes. Avoid drugs, weapons, pornography, certain medications without a prescription, e-cigarettes with banned substances, and religious materials for proselytizing.
7. Are there cultural or legal restrictions?
Respect local customs, religious practices, and laws. Avoid public arguments, shouting, and excessive displays of affection.
8. Can I drink alcohol?
Yes, but only in licensed venues such as hotels, restaurants, bars, and clubs. Drinking in public is prohibited.
9. How do I get around?
Taxis and ride-hailing apps are widely available. Dubai also has a metro, tram, and bus network. Car rentals are possible with an international driving license.
10. What should I expect during Ramadan?
Hotels and attractions operate normally, but eating, drinking, and smoking in public during daylight may be restricted.
11. Can tourists get a tax refund?
Yes. Eligible VAT can be refunded at participating stores and processed at airport kiosks before departure.
12. How do I stay connected?
Tourist SIMs are available at airports and malls from major networks like Etisalat and Du, offering data, local minutes, and international options.
13. Can I take photos?
Photography is allowed in most public areas, but avoid government or military sites. Always get consent when photographing people, especially women and families, and respect “No Photography” signs.
